The Fall
|
|
"They are always different; they are always the same." - John Peel
The Fall (or The Mighty Fall, as Peely used to call them) were formed in Prestwich, Greater Manchester in early 1977. They have released around 50 singles, 25 studio albums, and well over 50 live and compilation albums, although it seems like more. In August 2004 they recorded their 24th and sadly final John Peel Session.
The band has gone through numerous personnel changes over the years, there have been well over 30 different line-ups so far, and at present consists of NME Godlike Genius Award for Services to Music winner Mark E. Smith, his wife, Elenor Smith and some young Americans - one of whom has a very impressive beard.
Line Up
Mark E Smith – vocals
Elenor Smith – keyboards, backing vocals
Dave ‘The Eagle’ Spurr – bass
Pete Greenway – guitar
Keiron Melling – drums
